Do you have a watermelon and trying to beat the summer heat. Then this recipe is the one for you !!
An ice-cold refreshing watermelon drink to beat the summer heat and prevent you from heatstroke.
Equipment:
- Saucepan
- Blender
Ingredients:
- 6 cups of cubed watermelon
- 1 1/2 cups brewed hibiscus tea, cooled
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1/2 cup of Simple Syrup
Simple Syrup:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
Directions:
- Take your watermelon cubes and put them in the freezer for at least an hour. You want them to be nice and frozen so they can be the replacement for ice.
- While you are waiting for your frozen fruit, in a saucepan, put the water and heat it until hot, but not boiling. Add the sugar and stir until fully dissolved.
- Once the sugar is dissolved, take off the heat and let it cool room temperature.
- Once the fruit is frozen, blend the frozen watermelon, hibiscus tea, lime juiced, and simple syrup until it is smooth. It should be like a slushie style of smoothness.
- Taste and add more simple sweetener, if you think it needs it
